A commission can begin almost anywhere - with a place you love, a person or animal who belongs in your story, an adventure you want to remember, or an idea you've imagined but have never seen brought to life.
You don't need to arrive with the perfect photograph or a fully formed concept. Bring me what you have - photographs, memories, places, colors, fragments of an idea and we'll explore how they might become a painting.
The goal isn't simply to reproduce a photograph. It's to create an original painting that captures what matters about the story.
How the Commission Process Works
1. Conversation
We start with a relaxed conversation — in person or online — about what you're imagining. You can share photographs, places, people, animals, stories, or simply an idea you'd like to explore.
2. Inspiration & Direction
Together, we'll talk about what matters most in the painting — the feeling, colors, atmosphere, and details you want it to hold. Looking at pieces from my portfolio can also help us discover what you're drawn to.
3. Concept Design
Using your photographs and ideas as a starting point, I'll create a concept sketch or digital composition for you to review. Once we're happy with the direction, I begin painting.
4. Progress Review
During the painting process, I'll share an update so you can see how the piece is developing and make any small refinements before I finish.
5. Completion & Delivery
Your finished original is signed, sealed, and ready to hang. We'll arrange pickup, delivery, or shipping so your painting can make its way home.
Commission Pricing
Commission pricing is based on the size and complexity of the painting. The prices below are starting guidelines for original paintings on gallery-wrapped canvas.
- 16” x 20” — $650
- 20” x 24” — $950
- 24” x 30” — $1,500
- 30” x 40” — $2,400
- 36” x 48” — $3,500
