Murals bring color, story, and identity to a space — transforming a blank wall into something that inspires, welcomes, and belongs.

I paint murals both independently and in collaboration with students. Sometimes the process begins with their ideas, sketches, and vision, while other times students join me in painting the mural itself. In either case, they experience how a concept becomes a large-scale artwork, and the finished piece reflects both creativity and community.

As a teaching artist with Spectra Arts in Santa Cruz County, I work with students throughout the year. In some classes, painting a mural becomes the final project: students who are graduating design a mural together, learning how to translate ideas into imagery, and ultimately help paint the piece that stays behind as a legacy for the school.
I guide the entire process — from design, planning, and materials to preparing the wall, sketching the layout, and sealing the final work with protective varnish. Each mural is unique, shaped by its community and created to last.
